Pascal Nicoloso

Principal Market Operations Expert, European Central Bank

Pascal Nicoloso graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (IEP Paris) in 1991 and began his career in the Markets Department of the Banque de France in 1993. He subsequently held various positions in foreign exchange and portfolio management before joining the ECB in 2001.

He then served again as a portfolio manager from 2003 to 2013 before joining the ECB’s Money Market and Liquidity Division, which was succeeded by the Liquidity and Investments Division in 2025.

In his previous roles, he was extensively involved in asset purchases between 2008 and 2013 in the context of the global financial crisis and the European sovereign debt crisis. He later served as project manager for the development of the €STR methodology from 2017 to 2022.
Since then, he has focused on gathering market intelligence on euro area interest rate markets.
