Jean-Louis Schirmann

CEO, European Money Markets Institute (EMMI)

Jean-Louis Schirmann has served as CEO of the European Money Markets Institute (EMMI) since 2018. Under his leadership, EMMI successfully reformed the Euribor benchmark and launched the hybrid methodology in line with the EU Benchmarks Regulation.

He also spearheaded the development of €STR-based fallback rates for Euribor and contributes actively to discussions on financial benchmarks and money markets at European level.

Before joining EMMI, Jean-Louis spent more than 20 years at the European Central Bank, where he held several senior positions in the field of market operations and money markets.

Jean-Louis Schirman regularly engages with market participants, institutions and industry associations on benchmark reform, financial market integration and the future of European money markets.
